The Decision and Visit To Kandarola Naturist Beach

Discovering new naturist destinations is always an exciting experience for Naked Wanderings, and Kandarola Beach on the island of Rab in Croatia is no exception. As someone deeply connected to the naturist community, I’ve had the opportunity to follow the journeys of various naturist bloggers, including Nick and Lins, which is how we got to know each other in a first place.

The fact that they still needed to explore the island of Rab added to the appeal, offering them a chance to experience a new facet of Croatia’s rich naturist culture.

It was a very good trip with plenty of fun and pleasant company from our fellow islanders.

Beyond the Beach

While Kandarola Beach was the primary focus of their visit, Nick and Lins’ experience extended beyond sunbathing and swimming. They had the opportunity to explore the island of Rab, including its historic old town. A visit to the Rab Cake House provided a taste of local culinary traditions, adding a cultural dimension to their naturist travels.

The recipe of Rab Cake dates back to medieval times and was historically made by nuns for special occasions, particularly for noble guests. Legend has it that Rab Cake was served to Pope Alexander III when he visited Rab in 1177.

Lins and Nick explored the old town of Rab and got to know its centuries-old culture. They also visited the House of Rab Cake and tasted the original Rab delicacy, and then they set off to tour all the nudist beaches on Rab

One of the highlights of their stay was a unique photoshoot organized at Kandarola with our lovely Kandarola member Andrina, whose work you can follow here. In a nod to the beach’s royal history, Nick and Lins were photographed as the “king and the queen” of Kandarola, echoing the visit of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.

This creative approach not only paid homage to the beach’s heritage but also provided a memorable experience for all of us; they’ve got into the shoes of a royal couple’s bath, and we’ve got our new queen and king of the Kandarola beach that will lead a new generation of naturists.
